Discovery
(During our first meeting with you):
- Our first meeting is normally completed face to face. We want to get to know you and for you to get to know us
- We want to learn about your goals for providing coverage
- We will gather information that will be used to create a request for proposal (RFP)
Analysis
(behind the scenes – after our meeting with you):
- BCP will complete a detailed assessment of whether your existing benefits coverage matches the current goals of your company
- Through our request for proposal (RFP) process we engage reputable insurance carriers to compete for your business
- We analyse the outcome of our RFP process and prepare for our next meeting with you
Presentation / Recommendation:
- We arrange our next in person discussion to review the results of the RFP and provide you with a recommendation of which insurance carrier best meets your needs
Implementation
If the current insurer is found to be your best option:
- We’ll share the results of our RFP process with you
- There are no administrative changes for the employees, but your company’s service will be enhanced by having Benefits Consulting Plus working for you
If your company changes insurance carriers:
- Benefits Consulting Plus will oversee and assist with the implementation of your new benefits plan; and
- With your permission we will conduct an employee meeting to explain the change in coverage and answer questions
Annual review and in-year update meetings
ANNUAL REVIEW
- BCP proactively negotiates your renewal in advance of our annual renewal meeting
- We provide you with a review of the past plan year
- We complete a general review of your plan design to ensure the plan continues to meet the needs of your employees as well as to highlight new product options for your consideration
IN YEAR UPDATE MEETINGS
(Semi-annual or Quarterly at the client’s request)
- These meeting are intended to discuss how the plan is operating and if there are any issues with the insurer, plan administration or claims that should be addressed now
- We’ll also use this meeting to share with you new and emerging trends in employee benefits.
Ongoing Client and Policy Support
- We work for our clients NOT the insurance carrier
- We are your first point of contact. No question is too big or too small
- We provide training for your plan administrator
- We provide time saving excel templates to your plan administrator
- We support your employees and will help them navigate their benefits questions
- We will conduct employee meetings at your request
- We have an individual insurance specialist available to assist with insurance needs of both the business owner as well as employees and their family

At Benefits Consulting Plus we understand that individual insurance planning means something different to each person. Whether your goal is to have insurance in place to protect yourself, your family, or your buisness we are here to guide you.
Discovery Talk
- At our first meeting we begin the process of getting to know you
- We want to learn about your goals for owning insurance and encourage you to ask any questions you may have
- We will gather information that will be used as the basis of your insurance plan
Analysis & Design (behind the scenes work)
- After our meeting we assess how much insurance you need today based on the priorities you outlined during the Discovery talk
- We thoroughly review your existing insurance coverage to confirm that you have the right plan design in place. We also determine if the amount of coverage you currently own reflects your actual need or whether you own too little or too much insurance.
- We then design recommendation(s) that reflect your current insurance needs, timeline, and budget
Presentation & Recommendation
- During this meeting we will review the Discovery meeting and the results of the analysis we completed on your behalf.
- We will explain whether your existing plan is meeting your current goals. Rest assured if your plan is on track we will tell you but if there is room for improvement we will present you with recommendation(s) that will put you back on track.
Implementation
- Once you decide to move ahead with a recommendation the next step is to complete an insurance carrier application and the underwriting required for your application.
- When a policy is approved you will be notified and we can arrange a time to meet to review your contract
- At this meeting feel free to ask any questions you may still have before signing to accept your new policy
Client Service
- We are proud to provide ongoing client and policy support. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Please also contact us for changes in banking or address and to review your coverage if a life change occurs (birth of a child, a move, change in job, etc.)
- We also encourage clients to come in and complete an insurance review periodically even if they feel nothing has changed.
