As we transition into Fall the leaves will change colour and the temperature will begin to get cooler. With the change in season there is so much to look forward to and so many reasons to try our best to stay healthy. A simple step everyone at your workplace can take is to get their annual flu shot and here is why.

• Everyone in your workplace is susceptible to getting the flu, so it’s a good idea to convey to employees to get a flu shot every year and get it early.
• Getting a flu shot is an example of a workplace wellness initiative. When employees get their flu shots, they build up their immune systems, making them stronger and more resistant to the virus.
• The flu typically lasts seven to 10 days, but the cough and fatigue can last much longer, slowing a full return to work.

Some employers offer employees a small gift card when employees can show they received their flu shot. Other employers bring the flu shot to their workplace.  If the flu shot is available at your workplace, employees will not need to take time off to get the immunized, and they are also more likely to get vaccinated.

There are numerous providers of workplace flu shot clinics.
